About
I am the Senior Technician for Composites Engineering at the ҹèÊÓƵ.
I initially trained as a sculptor at art school and had a successful career in teaching Art & Design, DT and Engineering.
My interest in materials developed whilst studying sculpture. I worked with plaster, clay, bronze, glass, graphite, wax, resin, silicone, plastic, foam, rubber, concrete, fabric and more. Nothing was off limits. I worked with processes such as mould-making, casting, forming, cutting, joining and welding, to name a selection. I got into composites whilst teaching DT and Engineering, which led me to where I am now.
I bring my background in teaching with me to ensure that I offer a fantastic student experience in the Composites Engineering Lab, as well as the highest standards of professionalism when working with academics, researchers and colleagues from industry.
The Composites Engineering Lab is a fantastic facility and we welcome all enquiries about the space and resources that we offer. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me, or our principal contact for Composites Professor John Summerscales.
